David lord, a Dell Spokesperson stated that Dell has been listening to their users and will release Laptops with pre-installed Linux in them, but the question is what type of Linux operating system will be built in, a query that has yet to be answered.
But this has yet to be seen, maybe Dell will just have Linux as an alternative Operating System for their laptop, this might just come in as an option to buyers.
However if this will really be done, aside from the Operating System what other types of programs will be included in the package, if you. the reader might have experienced using Linux Operating system, you might say "OpenOffice", yes this is true, considering it is built in to most Linux OS, but has yet to be decided from Dell's standpoint.
So for users who wants to experience new operating system buying Dell's Linux-Laptops might be a good idea but for novice user using Linux might prove more difficult than manipulating most Windows operating systems.

I know this is late but I just have to blog about this because not everyone is aware of WIndows Vista and its origins.
Windows Vista is a new line of "Graphical Operating System from Microsoft, Vista can be used in a number media's such as laptops, desktop computers, palmtop computers and media center. Prior from its announcement on July 22, 2005 Vista was disguise with code name "Longhorn" the development of Vista was continued and the final release was made on January 30 2007 worldwide.
Before vista was release it took the team at least five years to come up with a new operating system making it the longest time span between Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Windows Vista is packed with new features, a new graphical user interface and a visual style named Windows Aero and new search features and a DVD creation tool.
But according to Microsoft their primary objective with Vista was to improve it's security this has to proven yet, judging by the bugs and security holes that was present in Windows XP, Vista is just as susceptible to malware, worms and viruses.
I've seen in a news on TV that before the official release of Vista worldwide there have been numerous amount of pirated copies of vista that was sold in China for approximately $5 dollars each a major money saver compared to the original Vista that is sold for at least $100+, not that I condone any acts of piracy.
Windows Vista has yet to be tested and put to the limits, if your are planning to migrate into this operating system remember first that is has a very high systems requirements.
